Monkey Bread

TOTAL TIME:
50 mins
YIELD:
1 loaf
Ingredients
  • 3 (12oz) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

Icing

  • 2-3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 Tbsp Milk (or more)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. With butter, grease a pan (I use 9x13, my Mom uses a bundt pan) and preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a plastic bag, mix together white sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Cut biscuit dough into quarters.
  4. Placing a couple pieces of dough into plastic mixture at a time, shake until evenly coated with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  5. Evenly layer coated biscuit pieces in your pan, creating several layers.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter with brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour evenly over the biscuits.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until top of biscuits become golden brown.
  8. Let bread cool for 10 minutes and transfer to a plate.
  9. For the icing, mix all ingredients into a medium sized bowl. Continue to add as much milk as you'd like to reach your desired consistency. Depending on the amount of powdered sugar, you may need to just eyeball it.
