Puppy Chow Bites

1 hour 10 mins
YIELD:
8-12 bites
Ingredients

Filling

  • 3 cups of Chex cereal
  • 1/4 heaping cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter

Chocolate Coating

  • 2 cups chocolate chips or baking chocolate to melt

Powdered Sugar Coating

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a large bowl, pour Chex cereal. Use your hands to break and crumble cereal. (You want these pieces to be small).
  2. Add in peanut butter and powdered sugar.
  3. Use your hands to combine the mixture until it's evenly combined.
  4. Let chill in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes.
  5. Once chilled, use a cookie scoop to scoop out the mixture and roll into a ball with your hands.
  6. Melt the chocolate at 30 second intervals (be careful not to burn).
  7. Dip the balls into the chocolate and place onto a baking sheet layered with parchment paper to dry/harden.
  8. Let the chocolate set (could take a few hours, to expedite, throw in refrigerator).
  9. Once chocolate is hardened, roll bites into powdered sugar. You might use all of it, you might use half of it depending on your preference.

Overview

Football season is upon us and so are the long awaited tailgates! Looking for something easy to make and share? Look no further.

These puppy chow bites (otherwise known as muddy buddies) are ideal for a crowd (or yourself - let me reiterate how there is no judgement in this space). They make the perfect sweet treat while cheering on your team.

You know when you get a big clump of Chex pieces and it has the perfect ratio of chocolate to peanut butter? That's what these bites are all about.

Drenched and coated in chocolate, how can you not be a fan?!
